Phase contrast image segmentation using a Laue analyser crystal
Marcus J. Kitchen,David M. Paganin,Kentaro Uesugi,Beth J. Allison,Robert A. Lewis,Stuart B. Hooper,Konstantin Mikhailovitch Pavlov,Konstantin Mikhailovitch Pavlov +7 more
TL;DR: Simultaneous image acquisition has enabled us to perform functional segmentation of the mouse thorax throughout the respiratory cycle during mechanical ventilation and this phase contrast image segmentation (PCIS) is validated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Improvements in performance time for simultaneous three-dimensional NMR imaging
TL;DR: In this article, two methods of reducing total imaging time for 3D imaging experiments are presented, one involves restriction of the sensitive volume to the volume of interest by selective excitation and the other involves faster information collection which is achieved by repeatedly reforming an echo following a single excitation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Binary Pseudo-random Grating Standard for Calibration of Surface Profilometers
TL;DR: In this paper, the use of a binary pseudo-random (BPR) grating as a standard test surface for measurement of the modulation transfer function (MTF) of interferometric microscopes was proposed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cat retina and the sampling theorem; the relation of transient and sustained brisk-unit cut-off frequency to α and β-mode cell density
TL;DR: The brisk-sustained system has less potential for undersampling and spurious imagery than the brisk-transient system, which is thought to play a different role, and could avoid such aliasing altogether if it is functionally heterogeneous.
Journal ArticleDOI
Combination of TOPEX/POSEIDON data with a hydrographic inversion for determination of the oceanic general circulation and its relation to geoid accuracy
TL;DR: In this article, a global estimate of the absolute oceanic general circulation from a geostrophic inversion of in situ hydrographic data is tested against and then combined with an estimate obtained from TOPEX/POSEIDON altimetric data and a geoid model computed using the JGM-3 gravity-field solution.
