TLDR
In this article, a series of ion-selective electrodes based on metal dithizonates is discussed and a theory to explain their behavior is proposed, where the higher the extraction constant of the metal Dithizonate, the greater is the selectivity of the electrode prepared from it for the particular metal involved in the extraction system.

Carbon Paste Electrodes in Facts, Numbers, and Notes: A Review on the Occasion of the 50‐Years Jubilee of Carbon Paste in Electrochemistry and Electroanalysis

TL;DR: In this article, a review of the electrochemistry and electroanalytical applications of carbon paste-based electrodes, sensors, and detectors is presented on the occasion of the half-of-century anniversary since the discovery of carbon powder.
Journal ArticleDOI

Selectrode—the universal ion-selective electrode

TL;DR: The correlation between extraction data and electrode behaviour assisted in explaining the vital properties of organophosphate-based calcium electrodes, and in suggesting a new liquid ion exchanger, di-(n-octylphenyl) phosphoric acid as discussed by the authors.

SelectrodeTM—the universal ion-selective solid-state electrode

TL;DR: In this paper, the ion-sensitive surface of the new solid-state electrode consists of a very thin layer of an electroactive material adsorbed on the surface of hydrophobized graphite.

A C&EN Feature: Ion-Selective Electrodes

TL;DR: In the field of analytical potentiometry, the ion-selective electrodes as discussed by the authors have been used to measure directly the activity (rather than concentration) of an ion in solution, and they are used in clinical analysis, water analysis and oceanographie research, process control, and in routine laboratory analytical determinations.

Selectivity of ion-specific membrane electrodes

TL;DR: In this article, a theoretical interpretation for the selectivity constants of ionselective electrodes is given, and the validity of the theory is proved for halide-selectively electrodes for analytical chemistry applications.

Ion-selective electrodes in continuous-flow analysis: Determination of calcium in serum

TL;DR: The use of a calcium-selective electrode as a sensor in procedures involving the AutoAnalyzer is described in this paper, where the influence of various parameters such as temperature, pH, ionic strength, and carryover, as well as interactions between the pump and electrodes, were studied.
