TLDR
In this paper, the general character of the linear elastic solution near the periphery of the crack is determined such that local stresses and displacements can be expressed independently of uncertainties of both the crack geometry and magnitude of the applied load.

Boundary element analysis of three‐dimensional cracks in anisotropic solids

TL;DR: In this article, a boundary element analysis of linear elastic fracture mechanics in three-dimensional cracks of anisotropic solids is presented, which can model the solids with multiple interacting cracks or damage.

Stress and induction field of a spheroidal inclusion or a penny-shaped crack in a transversely isotropic piezo-electric material

TL;DR: In this article, exact closed-form solutions for the stress and induction field of a spheroidal piezo-electric inclusion in an infinite piezoelectric matrix subjected to spatially homogeneous mechanical and electrical loadings far away from the inclusion were obtained.

The behavior of a flat elliptical crack in an anisotropic elastic body

TL;DR: In this article, a method devolving upon the computation of certain influence coefficients is presented for determining the material displacements and stress in the vicinity of the edge of an elliptic crack within an arbitrarily anisotropic elastic body.
Journal ArticleDOI

Three-dimensional fracture analysis in transversely isotropic solids

TL;DR: In this paper, a boundary element formulation for three-dimensional crack problems in transversely isotropic bodies is presented, which is based on the quadratic isoparametric element context.
Journal ArticleDOI

Three-dimensional static crack problems solution (a review)

TL;DR: A review of literature dealing with the stress strain and limiting equilibrium of a cracked solid subjected to outer loading is given in this article, where the results of studying the unbounded solids of complicated configuration weakened by singular cracks and systems of cracks are presented.

On cracks in rectilinearly anisotropic bodies

TL;DR: In this paper, the general equations for crack-tip stress fields in anisotropic bodies are derived making use of a complex variable approach and stress intensity factors, which permit concise representation of the conditions for crack extension, are defined and evaluated directly from stress functions.

Axial symmetric stress distributions in aeolotropic hexagonal crystals. The problem of the plane and related problems

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the method of transforms (7) is applicable to the case of axial symmetric stress distributions in hexagonal crystals, and the same method was used to find the solutions for a material containing disk-shaped cracks between hexagonal planes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Notes on problems in hexagonal aeolotropic materials

TL;DR: In this article, a general solution of the elastic equations of equilibrium in terms of two "harmonic" functions, or, in the case of axially symmetric stress distributions, in term of a single stress function, is given.
