Abstract
A method for the development of a high-frequency transformer model for use in an electromagnetic transient program (EMTP) is discussed. A transformer to be modeled is measured, and the results are used to calculate the transfer and admittance functions. Modal analysis is used to determine a no-load network model that can be used in the EMTP. Results for a 400 kVA transformer are presented. >

Transfer function method to diagnose axial displacement and radial deformation of transformer windings

TL;DR: In this article, a transfer function method is presented as a tool to detect axial displacement and radial deformation of transformer windings using two test transformers and detailed mathematical models were developed for the test objects and a comparison was carried out between measured and calculated results.

Complete transformer model for electromagnetic transients

TL;DR: In this paper, a complete, three phase transformer model for the calculation of electromagnetic transients is presented, which consists of a set of state equations solved with the trapezoidal rule of integration in order to obtain an equivalent Norton circuit at the transformer terminals.

A high frequency transformer model for the EMTP

TL;DR: In this paper, a model to simulate the high-frequency behavior of a power transformer is presented based on the frequency characteristics of the transformer admittance matrix between its terminals over a given range of frequencies.

Wide band modeling of power transformers

TL;DR: In this article, a linear wide band frequency-dependent black box model of a two-winding power transformer was obtained for the purpose of calculation of electromagnetic transients in power systems.

Effective measurements using digital signal analysis

TL;DR: The use of correlation, transfer, and coherence functions in obtaining measurements that are unambiguous and quantitative and can attach to a given aspect of the system being measured is discussed.
