Transient boiling heat transfer under forced convection

TLDR
In this paper, an experimentally studied transient boiling heat transfer under forced convection was conducted, where an exponential increasing heat input was supplied to a platinum wire in water flowing upward in a round tube at pressures from 0.143 to 1.503 MPa.

Critical heat flux

TL;DR: A survey of fundamental studies on the critical heat flux (CHF) phenomenon can be found in this paper, where the materials have been classified into four main boiling modes, subdivided into individual important topics and arranged in a proper sequence so as to show the synthetic framework of the CHF phenomenon.

Theoretical prediction of maximum heat flux in power transients

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors formulated a model to predict the burnout characteristics during a power increase, based on visual and photographic observations of the vapour-liquid configuration near the maximum heat flux reported by other investigators.

Transient boiling of water under exponentially escalating heat inputs. Part II: Flow boiling

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the forced convection effects on transient boiling heat transfer of water on plate-type heaters, at atmospheric pressure, under exponentially escalating heat fluxes.

Transient boiling heat transfer characteristics of R113 at large stepwise power generation

TL;DR: In this article, the transient boiling heat transfer characteristics of R113 at large stepwise power generation are investigated experimentally over a wide range of system pressures, and the experimental results are summarized as follows.

A generalized correlation of critical heat flux for the forced convection boiling in vertical uniformly heated round tubes

TL;DR: In this paper, the critical heat flux (CHF) in the conditions that the fluid fed to heated tubes is subcooled (including saturated liquid in the extreme situation) with no entrained vapor was investigated.
