Transient state analysis of a doubly-fed induction generator under three phase short circuit

TLDR
In this article, the transient behavior of a symmetrically loaded DFG after a three-phase short circuit is presented, where both speed and rotor excitation voltage and frequency remain unchanged during short circuit.
Abstract
The doubly fed induction generator (DFG) is a variable-speed constant-frequency generator operating in either subsynchronous or supersynchronous mode. The transient behavior of a symmetrically loaded DFG after a three-phase short circuit is presented. Both speed and rotor excitation voltage and frequency remain unchanged during short circuit. The complete mathematical model of the transient state and experimental results are given, along with the transient state equivalent circuit. >

A Series-Dynamic-Resistor-Based Converter Protection Scheme for Doubly-Fed Induction Generator During Various Fault Conditions

TL;DR: In this paper, a series dynamic resistor (SDR) was proposed to avoid the doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) control being disabled by conventional crowbar protection during fault conditions.

Enhanced Fault Ride-Through Method for Wind Farms Connected to the Grid Through VSC-Based HVDC Transmission

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a new control approach for secure fault-ride through of wind farms connected to the grid through a voltage source converter-based high voltage DC transmission, which initiates a controlled voltage drop in the wind farm grid to achieve a fast power reduction.

Control of a doubly fed induction generator in a wind turbine during grid fault ride-through

TL;DR: In this paper, the ability of a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) in a wind turbine to ride through a grid fault and the limitations to its performance were analyzed. But the fundamental difficulty for the DFIG in ride-through is the e.m. induced in the machine rotor during the fault, which depends upon the d.c. and negative sequence components in the stator flux linkage and the rotor speed.

On the theory of 3-phase squirrel-cage induction motors including space harmonics and mutual slotting

TL;DR: In this article, the authors derived general equations for squirrel-cage induction motors based on the real geometry of the motor and derived free angles to simplify the set of equations when the specific geometrical properties of both types of machines fundamentally can be divided are taken into account.
