Abstract
Methods are presented for modeling the failure and repair of transmission equipment and their impact on subtransmission system reliability. The methods account for arbitrary load variation and nonexponential downtime distribution for components. The effects of single independent outages common-mode outages and independent overlapping outages are studied. The results are used to identify conditions when nonexponentially distributed downtimes can lead to significant errors if the method of analysis does not take this factor into account. >

A reliability evaluation method for transmission grid based on risk theory

TL;DR: In this article , a reliability evaluation method for transmission grid based on risk theory is proposed, which effectively combines the fault occurrence probability and the result of load loss due to the contingencies, quantitatively describes the reliability evaluation index under different contingencies.

Reliability assessment of transmission and distribution schemes

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a further step in the development of accurate and consistent techniques for the reliability evaluation of transmission and distribution systems, and a three state weather model is developed to illustrate the effect of severe adverse weather periods on the system reliability performance.
