A package of programs (run by a management program called TREECON) was developed for the construction and drawing of evolutionary trees. The program MATRIX calculates dissimilarity values and can perform boostrap analysis on nucleic acid sequences. TREE implements different evolutionary tree constructing methods based on distance matrices. Because some of these methods produce unrooted evolutionary trees, a program ROOT places a root on the tree. Finally, the program DRAW draws the evolutionary tree, changes its size or topology, and produces drawings suitable for publication. Whereas, MATRIX is suited only for nucleic acids, the modules TREE, ROOT and DRAW are applicable to any kind of dissimilarity matrix. The programs run on IBM-compatible microcomputers using the DOS operating system.read more

Genome-Wide Analysis of Core Cell Cycle Genes in Arabidopsis
Klaas Vandepoele,Jeroen Raes,Jeroen Raes,Lieven De Veylder,Pierre Rouzé,Stephane Rombauts,Dirk Inzé +6 more
TL;DR: This genome-wide analysis illustrates the complexity of the plant cell cycle machinery and provides a tool for elucidating the function of new family members in the future.

Phylogeny of Wolbachia in filarial nematodes
TL;DR: There is no evidence for recent Wolbachia transmission between arthropods and nematodes, and endosymbiont 16S ribosomal DNA sequences from a subset of filarial species support these findings.

A phylogenetic analysis of filarial nematodes: comparison with the phylogeny of Wolbachia endosymbionts
TL;DR: The phylogeny proposed by this study is partially incongruent with previous classifications of filarial nematodes, based on morphological characters and both traditional classifications and molecular phylogenies are, in part, inconsistent with the phylogeny of Wolbachia.

TL;DR: This study shows that the initial dental plaque community of each subject is unique in terms of diversity and composition, suggesting that the spatiotemporal interactions and ecological shifts that accompany biofilm maturation also occur in a subject-dependent manner.

Genetic isolation by distance in Arabidopsis thaliana: biogeography and postglacial colonization of Europe
TL;DR: It appears that there has been sufficient historical recombination in the A. thaliana genome such that accessions do not conform to a tree‐like, bifurcating pattern of evolution – there is no ‘ecotype phylogeny’ Nonetheless, significant isolation by distance provides a framework upon which studies of natural variation in A.Thaliana may be designed and interpreted.
