Novel method to improve engine exhaust energy extraction with active control turbocharger

TL;DR: In this article, a mixed-flow turbine with pivoting nozzle vanes was designed and tested to actively adapt to the pulsating exhaust flow (called the active control turbocharger).

Advanced turbocharger technologies for high performance diesel engine - passanger vehicle application

TL;DR: In this article, a review of advancements in turbocharger technology to meet the demand of high performance and low emission of passenger car vehicle application is presented, where the authors have developed in terms of the thermodynamics and operating of future passenger car viz increase in the power density of the engine, highest possible maximum torque at low engine speeds across the widest possible range of speeds.

Modelling, analysis and optimisation of ship energy systems

TL;DR: In this paper, the energy systems of two case study ships were analyzed using energy and exergy analysis to identify energy flows and inefficiencies, and solutions for improving the energy efficiency of the existing systems were proposed and evaluated accounting for the ship's observed operating range and for how added elements influenced the existing ships and their performance.
