Uncertainty bounds on modal parameters obtained from stochastic subspace identification

TLDR
In this paper, the variance estimation procedure uses the first-order sensitivity of the modal parameter estimates to perturbations of the measured output-only data, which is applicable for the reference-based covariance-driven stochastic subspace identification algorithm.

System Identification Methods for (Operational) Modal Analysis: Review and Comparison

TL;DR: In this article, the authors extensively review operational modal analysis approaches and related system identification methods and compare them in an extensive Monte Carlo simulation study, and then compare the results with the results obtained in an experimental setting.

Dealing with uncertainty in model updating for damage assessment: A review

TL;DR: In this paper, a non-probabilistic fuzzy approach and a probabilistic Bayesian approach for model updating for non-destructive damage assessment is presented. But the model updating problem is an inverse problem prone to ill-posedness and ill-conditioning.

Structural Health Monitoring Using Wireless Sensor Networks: A Comprehensive Survey

TL;DR: A comprehensive survey of SHM using WSNs is presented outlining the algorithms used in damage detection and localization, outlining network design challenges, and future research directions.

Fully automated (operational) modal analysis

TL;DR: A fully automated, generally applicable three-stage clustering approach is developed for interpreting a stabilization diagram that does not require any user-specified parameter or threshold value, and can be used in an experimental, operational, and combined vibration testing context and with any parametric system identification algorithm.

Ambient vibration re-testing and operational modal analysis of the Humber Bridge

TL;DR: In this article, an ambient vibration survey of the Humber Bridge was carried out in July 2008 by a combined team from the UK, Portugal and Hong Kong, where ten stand-alone tri-axial acceleration recorders were deployed at locations along all three spans and in all four pylons during five days of consecutive one-hour recordings.

Kronecker products and matrix calculus in system theory

TL;DR: In this article, a review of the algebras related to Kronecker products is presented, which have several applications in system theory including the analysis of stochastic steady state.
