More specifically, the invention describes 5 -lipoxygenase inhibitory extracts or bio-enriched extracts or fractions of Aphanamixis polystachya, methods of making 5 -lipoxygenase inhibitory extract, and methods of treating and/or preventing disease conditions mediated by 5 -lipoxygenase by using the said extract. The invention further discloses pharmaceutical or nutraceutical or dietary compositions containing therapeutically effective amounts of the extracts of Aphanamixis polystachya in combination with other known anti-inflammatory agents useful for oral, parenteral and topical administration.read more
