Event semantics and abstract categorial grammar

TL;DR: It is argued that these linguistic properties reflect a distinction between overt arguments and purely semantic slots like the event argument, and assumes that semantic event arguments are only introduced by the (basic) result type of the verb's abstract type, whose pheno-level type is standardly a string.

Progressive Attraction: On the Use and Grammaticalization of Progressive Aspect in Dutch, Norwegian, and German

TL;DR: This article investigated the use of aspectual constructions in Dutch, Norwegian, and German, languages in which aspect marking that presents events explicitly as ongoing, is optional, and found that while German speakers make insignificant use of aspects, usage patterns in Norwegian and Dutch present an interesting case of overlap, as well as differences, with respect to a set of factors that attract or constrain use of different constructions.
