Mobile network operators can expand their capacity by aggregating their licensed spectrum with the spectrum discovered opportunistically, i. e., spatiotemporally unused spectrum by other primary users.
We propose a dynamic spectrum assignment method in which a WiFi system temporarily uses a spectrum band of the WiMAX system in WiFi/WiMAX integrated networks to reduce call blocking probability of multimedia communication services.
While these two technologies improve the spectrum utilization by using time division access schema, we believe that more efficient spectrum utilization can be achieved by enabling simultaneous transmissions from LTE and WiFi.
Different from conventional coexistence schemes, which require massive signaling exchanges between the two systems to achieve fairness, the proposed DRL-based algorithm can maximize the spectrum usage while protecting the WiFi system without such signaling requirements.

WiFi offloading, where mobile users opportunistically obtain data through WiFi rather than through cellular networks, is a promising technique to greatly improve spectrum efficiency and reduce cellular network congestion.
By using EDOCR, we can save spectrum resources and extend coverage areas.
Meanwhile, leveraging the emerging LTE in unlicensed spectrum (LTE-U) technology, some unlicensed spectrum resources may be allocated to the LTE system in compensation for handling more WiFi users.
