On the other hand, helicopters can remain in the area in order to direct police to the source of the (very visible) beam. Laser protective eyewear, to reduce the intensity of light, may be appropriate for pilots flying into a known or suspected laser area.
Since the output from a laser is a highly collimated beam of monochromatic light that can be made extremely intense and plane polarized, the eminent suitability of lasers as light sources for photoelasticity is suggested.
Standoff ultraviolet laser-induced light detection and ranging is applicable in homeland security for early warning of biological warfare agents.
The high intensity laser beam can result in temporary blindness for pilots when the beam targets the windscreen of aircraft on the ground or on final approach within the vicinity of the airport.
Reflected laser light may exceed occupational exposure limits for momentary viewing by bystanders if they are within 1 meter of the laser contact lens.

It is true that in a laser the light is ‘coherent,’ meaning that it can be beamed over long distances without the beam spreading out into a cone like a normal flashlight.
This constitutes the highest power “atmospheric white-light laser” to date.
In conclusion, the pulse-width and wavelength of the laser light are critical parameters for laser treatments.

We present a protocol for creating such an out-of-band channel with visible laser light that is secure against man-in-the-middle attacks even when the laser transmission is not confidential.
The present multifrequency laser emission may be advantageously used for illumination in a higher-grade display, such as a laser light show.
