Finally the performance assessment, based also on real radar data, has shown that these detectors achieve, in general, satisfactory detection performances.
Results indicate that the proposed radar can locate superheterodyne radio receivers that are 50 m away or more.
The radar system has potential applications in management programs where rapid, nondestructive targeting of incipient insect infestations would be of benefit to the producers and consumers of packaged foods.
Comparison of these detectors via computer simulations shows that CALR and CGLR can have near-optimum performance whereas the common radar-detectors may have severe losses.
It would seem that the ultimate system will involve a sensor suite including Lidar and FLIR detectors, which tend to complement the radar.
The radar method presented here is robust and can easily be adapted to different radar frequencies and data-acquisition geometries.
Overall, the measurements from the RISR-C radar are of high quality and consistent with results from the RISR-N radar.
Finally, the performance assessment, conducted over simulated data and in comparison with conventional radar detectors, highlights that the proposed architectures can provide satisfactory performance in terms of probability of detection and correct classification.
