Abstract: This paper reports on the analysis and comparison of mechanical and laser patterning in the fabrication of perovskite thin-film photovoltaic modules. Besides stability, device upscaling and module fabrication is a key challenge for the commercialization of perovskite photovoltaics. Here, the focus is on the optimization of the P2 interconnection that represents the electrical connection between serially connected cells in a module. The specific contact resistivity for P2 interconnection is determined by using an enhanced transmission line method. Mechanical or laser patterning are used to fabricate 4 cm $^{2}$ modules with aperture area efficiencies of up to 15.3% and geometrical fill factors as high as 94%. With the application of a simulation program with an integrated circuit emphasis-based electrical device model, the interconnection losses are quantified, and optimal designs for perovskite modules are presented.

Abstract: The present invention discloses an organic light pixel driving circuit, a driving method and an organic light display panel. The organic light pixel driving circuit comprises a first transistor configured to provide initial signals for the anode of an organic light emitting diode and the gate of a driving transistor; a second transistor configured to compensate the threshold voltage of the driving transistor; a third transistor configured to provide data signals for the driving transistor; a fourth transistor configured to transmit first power voltage to the driving transistor based on the signals of a first light signal terminal; a fifth transistor configured to control the electrical connection between the driving transistor and the organic light emitting diode based on the signals of the second light control signal terminal; and a capacitor configured to store the data signals transmitted to the driving transistor; and the organic light emitting diode configured to emit the light responding to the driving current generated through the driving transistor. The organic light pixel driving circuit, the driving method and the organic light display panel performs compensation of the threshold of the driving transistor to improve the display brightness homogeneity of the organic light display panel.

Abstract: Soldering has a high potential for electrically connecting single battery cells even for multicellular battery assemblies. This work evaluates soldered connections for battery cells by assessing the electrical connection resistance with a special measuring and calculation method. Due to the solder layer in between the joint partners, the current paths differ from welded connections. A resistance network and a finite element model (FEM) simulation are applied to understand these current paths. For the chosen test scenario, simulation predicts a reduction of the total connection resistance by the solder layer. Measured connection resistances and tensile strength are compared to series of measurements with resistance spot welding, ultrasonic welding, laser beam welding and press connections. Not only the connection resistances are lower for soldered brass samples but also the tensile strength is higher. For iron soldering on lithium-ion battery cells, the solder’s liquidus temperature should be below ca. 150 °C. Other heating techniques, such as laser soldering, seem more promising, because the heat input is rapid and extremely localized. As a conclusion, soldering is a good option for connecting battery cells. If the right heating technique is chosen and the parameters are optimally adjusted, soldering could overtrump other connection techniques in some aspects.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides an intelligent lighting control system for temporarily opening a circuit in the system. The lighting control system includes a light switch module including a switch control circuit. The switch control circuit includes a processor configured to modulate the flow of electrical energy to the lighting circuit via a dimmer circuit to produce a plurality of lighting scenes by varying the illumination of the light bulb. The processor is, in response to receipt of a control command to discontinue illumination of the light bulb, configured to cause, for a first pre-specified period of time, the amperage of the current flowing from an alternating current power supply to the power circuit to be reduced, and open, for the first pre-specified period of time, the electrical connection between the switch control circuit and an electrical connector.

One or more sensors are provided which detect signals of the hot power line and/or the neutral power line. The processor provides activation or deactivation control to the controlled switch in response to the detected signals that are indicative of conditions relative to the first and second contacts.

Abstract: The use of a multilayer piezoelectric cantilever beam for vibration-based energy harvesting applications has been investigated as an effective technique to increase the harvested electrical power. It has been shown that the multilayered energy harvester performance is very sensitive to the number of layers and their electrical connection due to impedance variations. The objective of this work is to suggest a comprehensive mathematical model of multilayered unimorph piezoelectric energy harvester allowing analytical solution for the harvested voltage and electrical power. The model is used to deeply investigate the influence of different parameters on the harvested power. A distributed-parameter model of the harvester using the Euler–Bernoulli beam theory and Hamilton's principle is derived. Gauss's law is used to derive the electrical equations for parallel and series connections. Abstract: The contact resistance is the main variable that defines the energy efficiency of an electrical connection, its stable performance and long term service. It is worth noting that according to the measurements performed in this work, the contact resistance in substation connectors can be several times that of the connector’s resistance. To reduce connection losses and thus increase connector’s efficiency, it is important to minimize contact resistance, to ensure an efficient connection. The aim of this work is to find out, by means of experimental measurements, the relationship between the different components of contact resistance in substation connectors and the main related variables such as material properties, applied bolts torque, true contact area, or surface’s conditions among others. Furthermore, this study proposes a novel surface treatment for substation connectors, which allows reducing the contact resistance. Experimental measurements demonstrate the effectiveness of the novel chemical treatment in improving energy efficiency in substation connectors.

Abstract: The need for additional IO bandwidth for data center device interconnection is well established. Optical interconnects can deliver required bandwidth along with energy and space efficiency at a cost that encourages adoption. To this end, we are developing an optical transceiver incorporating multimode VCSEL emitters in a coarse wavelength division multiplex (CWDM) system capable of transmission at 25Gbps per channel, 100Gbps/fiber, and a maximum aggregate bidirectional data rate of 1.2Tbps. Electrical connection to the transceiver can be made by solder reflow or LGA connector, and optical connection is made by means of a custom optical connector supporting CWDM transmission.

Abstract: Electrical loads that slide on moving gantries or rails are common in industry and automation, eg assembly lines, spindle heads, x-y tables, etc These systems often use insulated linear bearings to support mechanical movement during the intended process and a flexible wire-way or cable track provides an electrical connection to power moving parts This paper proposes eliminating the cable connection by using the capacitance of the linear bearings to transfer power between stationary and moving parts, ie the bearings/rails form the coupling of a capacitive power transfer system This is enabled by a 3–5 MHz, 3 phase, resonant inverter capable of driving AC current through the bearing-rail capacitance where it is ultimately rectified on a carriage for final use The high switching frequency enables smaller bearing coupling capacitance to be used with lower developed voltages The inverter uses 650V Gallium Nitride (GaN) High Electron Mobility Transistors (HEMTs) in a 3 phase configuration to extend switching frequencies to multi-MHz, thus enabling power transfer levels towards 102-103 watt levels The brushless and wireless excitation of a sliding electrical load, using linear plain bearings sliding on conventional 1 inch diameter anodized shafting serves as a demonstration application Experimental tests at 366 MHz demonstrate 1119W power transfer to a sliding carriage load

Abstract: A high pulse current from a capacitor bank is discharged through an insulated flat coil for magnetic Abstract pulse welding of sheets. The sheets (Al/Cu) with a gap are overlapped and fixed on the coil. Electromagnetic coupling exists between the coil and the Al sheet near the coil. This study shows the transmission efficiency of the electromagnetic energy which move from the bank to the coil by using equivalent discharge circuits. The welding is carried out by the energy that moved to the coil. Since the efficiency improves as the equivalent coil inductance increases, the 6 turn flat coil is most effective compared to other coils with fewer turns. The efficiency of the 1, 3, 4 and 6 turn flat coils was calculated based on the welding experiments.

Abstract: The invention discloses a charging circuit and terminal equipment. The charging circuit comprises two signal pins, two power supply pins, a USB controller and a power supply module; and the two power supply pins are connected with the power supply module electrically. In addition, the charging circuit also includes a first switch; and the two signal pins are switched between a mutual short circuit state and a state of electrical connection with the USB controller by the first switch. According to the charging circuit, because the first switch is arranged between the signal pins and the USB controller and thus the two signal pins are switched between the mutual short circuit state and the state of electrical connection with the USB controller by the first switch, switching of USB interfaces between an SDP type and a DCP type can be realized; and when switching to a DCP type is realized, external charging is realized by using heavy currents, so that the charging speed can increase. Therefore, a technical problem of slow charging speed during external charging of terminal equipment can be solved.
