TL;DR: A revision of the lichenicolous fungi accepted by Keissler (1930) in Coniothecium Corda is presented, and Gassicurtia Fee is rejected as based on discordant elements, and Spilomium Nyl.
Abstract: A revision of the lichenicolous fungi accepted by Keissler (1930) in Coniothecium Corda is presented. C. anaptychiae Lindau is Monodictys anaptychiae (Lindau) comb.nov.; C. lichenicola Linds. and C. sphaerale (Fr.) Keissl. are Sclerococcum sphaerale (Ach. ex Ficinus & Schubert) Fr.; C. graphideorum (Nyl.) Keissl. is Milospium graphideorum (Nyl.) gen.nov., comb.nov.; C. silaceum (Fee) Keissl. is Thelomma sp. (Caliciales); and C. pertusariicola (Nyl.) Keissl. is Lichenoconium pertusariicola (Nyl.) comb.nov. Gassicurtia Fee is rejected as based on discordant elements, and Spilomium Nyl. is illegitimate and a synonym of Sclerococcum Fr. ex Fr. All names of lichenicolous fungi referred to Coniothecium, Sclerococcum and Spilomium are discussed.

TL;DR: The haemoproteids of the avian family Threskiornithidae (ibises and spoonbills) are reviewed and two species are considered to be valid and one is rejected as a synonym of H. plataleae.
Abstract: The haemoproteids of the avian family Threskiornithidae (ibises and spoonbills) are reviewed. Two species, Haemoproteus pelouroi Tendeiro, 1947 and H. plataleae de Mello, 1935 are considered to be valid; these two species are redescribed, illustrated, and compared with similar species in the Gruidae (cranes). Records of Haemoproteus in the ibises and spoonbills are summarized. Haemoproteus galatheae Laird and Laird, 1959 is rejected as a synonym of H. plataleae.

TL;DR: A new species of Sophrorhinus recorded on kola (Cola nitida) in Nigeria is described and named S. gbanjaensis based on details of external morphology and structure of the aedeagus which were found to be sufficiently different from other validly identified species.
Abstract: Summary A new species of Sophrorhinus recorded on kola (Cola nitida) in Nigeria is described and named S. gbanjaensis. The description of the new species is based on details of external morphology and structure of the aedeagus which were found to be sufficiently different from other validly identified species of Sophrorhinus. S. divareti Hoffmann is also established as a synonym of S. quadricristatus Faust.

TL;DR: The seven species of Clinohelea known to inhabit North America are described and illustrated, and a key is provided for identification.
Abstract: The seven species of Clinohelea known to inhabit North America are described and illustrated, and a key is provided for identification. Two species groups are recognized: the unimaculata group and the bimaculata group. Clinohelea longitheca and C. pseudonubifera are new. Clino - helea nebulosa (Malloch) is a synonym of C. curriei (Coquillett) NEW SYNONOMY.

TL;DR: The plate in Burman's, Thesaurus Zeylanicus, t.
Abstract: Hooker, in his Flora of British India 3: 242 (1882) cited Verbesina lavenia L. as a synonym of Adenostemma viscosum J. R. & G. Forst. var. reticulatum (DC.) Hook. f. More recently, Gamble (1921) and Koster (I935) have also treated A. viscosum J. R. & G. Forst. (1776) and V. lavenia as conspecific, adopting the name Adenostemma lavenia (L.) Kuntze. Noticing that Kerr (1936), without any key, considered them as two distinct species, I decided to examine the 'typification' of the two taxa. No type of Verbesina lavenia L. from Ceylon could be traced in the Linnean Herbarium (LINN), I therefore here select the plate in Burman's, Thesaurus Zeylanicus, t. 42 (1737), quoted by Linnaeus (I753), as the lectotype. Again, the Forsters in their Characteres Generum Plantarum: 90 (1776) did not cite any specimen or locality for their species, A. viscosum, but G. Forster ten years later in his 'Prodromus' (1786) gives the Society Islands. I have seen the following Forster material:

TL;DR: Racodium Pers.
Abstract: Racodium Pers. per Fr. 1821 (starting-point date of nomenclature, 1821) has to be typified by Racodium cellare Pers., which makes it a genus of imperfect fungi (Deuteromycetes). Even if Racodium Fr. 1829 is accepted as a genus nomenclatively distinct from Racodium Pers. per Fr. 1821 and as such is referred to the (imperfect) lichens (starting-point date, 1753), it still must be rejected as a later homonym. Zasmidium Fr. 1849 is another name for Racodium Pers. ex. Fr. 1821 and a later synonym of it. For the lichen genus Racodium Fr. 1829 the substitute name Rhacodiopsis Donk, nom. nov. is introduced and for its type species the name Rhacodiopsis rupestris (Pers. per. S. F. Gray) Donk, comb. nov.
