Impaired Nociception and Pain Sensation in Mice Lacking the Capsaicin Receptor
Michael J. Caterina,A. Leffler,Annika B. Malmberg,William J. Martin,Jodie A. Trafton,K. R. Petersen-Zeitz,Martin Koltzenburg,Allan I. Basbaum,David Julius +8 more
TL;DR: Sensory neurons from mice lacking VR1 are severely deficient in their responses to each of these noxious stimuli and are impaired in the detection of painful heat, and showed little thermal hypersensitivity in the setting of inflammation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Structural insights into TRPV2 activation by small molecules
Ruth A. Pumroy,Anna D. Protopopova,Tabea C. Fricke,Iris U Lange,Ferdinand M. Haug,Phuong T. Nguyen,Pamela N. Gallo,Bárbara B. Sousa,Gonçalo J. L. Bernardes,Vladimir Yarov-Yarovoy,A. Leffler,Vera Y. Moiseenkova-Bell +11 more
TL;DR: In this article , the authors proposed a TRPV2-specific 2-ABP binding site at the interface of S5 of one monomer and the S4-S5 linker of the adjacent monomer.
Journal ArticleDOI
The coumarin osthole is a non-electrophilic agonist of TRPA1
TL;DR: In this paper , the effects of the coumarin osthole on TRPA1 were characterized by means of ratiometric calcium imaging and patch clamp electrophysiology, and it was concluded that osthole is a potent non-electrophilic agonist of TRPV1.
Journal ArticleDOI
Low potency inhibition of NaV1.7 by externally applied QX-314 via a depolarizing shift in the voltage-dependence of activation.
Tabea Klasfauseweh,Mathilde R. Israel,Lotten Ragnarsson,James J. Cox,Thomas Durek,David A. Carter,A. Leffler,Irina Vetter,Jennifer R. Deuis +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the electrophysiological effects of externally applied QX-314 on NaV1.7 channels were investigated and it was shown that at high concentrations, external QX314 inhibited IC50 2.0 ± 0.3 mM and shifted the voltage-dependence to more depolarized potentials (ΔV50 +10.6 mV).
Journal ArticleDOI
Local Anesthetic Like Inhibition of the Cardiac Na+ Channel Nav1.5 by Chloroquine and Hydroxychloroquine
TL;DR: In this paper , the effects of chloroquine and its derivate hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) on the cardiac Na+ channel Nav1.5 were investigated using the whole-cell patch-clamp technique.
