Journal ArticleDOI
Membrane-bound Steel factor induces more persistent tyrosine kinase activation and longer life span of c-kit gene-encoded protein than its soluble form
Keisuke Miyazawa,David R. Williams,Akihiko Gotoh,Jiroh Nishimaki,Hal E. Broxmeyer,Keisuke Toyama +5 more
TL;DR: Flow cytometric analysis and pulse-chase studies showed that SI4-h248 induced rapid downmodulation of cell-surface c-kit expression and its protein degradation in MO7e cells, whereas SI 4-h220 induced more prolonged life span of c-Kit protein.
Journal ArticleDOI
Enhancement of intracellular signaling associated with hematopoietic progenitor cell survival in response to SDF-1/CXCL12 in synergy with other cytokines.
Younghee Lee,Akihiko Gotoh,Akihiko Gotoh,Hyung-Joo Kwon,Hyung-Joo Kwon,Minute You,Minute You,Lisa L. Kohli,Lisa L. Kohli,Charlie Mantel,Charlie Mantel,Scott Cooper,Scott Cooper,Giao Hangoc,Giao Hangoc,Keisuke Miyazawa,Keisuke Miyazawa,Kazuma Ohyashiki,Kazuma Ohyashiki,Hal E. Broxmeyer +19 more
TL;DR: SDF-1 may contribute to maintenance of MPCs in bone marrow by enhancing cell survival alone and in combination with other cytokines, and was synergistically enhanced when SDF- 1 alpha was combined with low amounts of other survival-promoting cytokines.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ligand-dependent polyubiquitination of c-kit gene product: a possible mechanism of receptor down modulation in M07e cells
Keisuke Miyazawa,Keisuke Toyama,Akihiko Gotoh,Paul C. Hendrie,Charlie Mantel,Hal E. Broxmeyer +5 more
TL;DR: This article showed that soluble steel-factor (SLF) stimulation at 37 degrees C rapidly induced polyubiquitination of c-kit protein in growth-factor-dependent human myeloid cell line M07e.
Journal ArticleDOI
Steel factor induces serine phosphorylation of Stat3 in human growth factor-dependent myeloid cell lines
TL;DR: It is shown that SLF induces time- and dose-dependent phosphorylation of Stat3 in the human growth factor-dependent cell lines MO7e and TF-1, and that the Jak-Stat pathway may be differentially regulated by the combinational stimulation of two or more cytokines.
Journal Article
Tyrosine phosphorylation and activation of focal adhesion kinase (p125FAK) by BCR-ABL oncoprotein.
Akihiko Gotoh,Keisuke Miyazawa,Kazuma Ohyashiki,T Tauchi,Boswell Hs,Hal E. Broxmeyer,Keisuke Toyama +6 more
TL;DR: The data suggest that BCR-ABL may be involved in the activation of FAK, and that FAK may be distinct from components in Ras-mediated signaling cascades that are activated by stimulation of myeloid cells with various cytokines.
