TL;DR: Intramuscular triamcinolone acetonide appears to be safe, well tolerated, and effective in the treatment of pseudogout and may be a reasonable alternative therapy when NSAID are contraindicated, and for polyarticular attacks where intraarticular corticosteroids are impractical.
