CO2 Electroreduction to Hydrocarbons on Carbon-Supported Cu Nanoparticles
Olga A. Baturina,Qin Lu,Monica Padilla,Le Xin,Wenzhen Li,Alexey Serov,Kateryna Artyushkova,Plamen Atanassov,Feng Xu,Feng Xu,Albert Epshteyn,Todd Brintlinger,Mike Schuette,Greg E. Collins +13 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a sealed rotating disk electrode (RDE) setup coupled with a gas chromatograph (GC) was used to evaluate the performance of four carbon-supported Cu catalysts toward CO2 electroreduction to hydrocarbons.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dinitrogen activation at ambient temperatures: new modes of H(2) and PhSiH(3) additions for an "End-On-Bridged" [Ta(IV)](2)(mu-eta(1):eta(1)-N(2)) complex and for the bis(mu-nitrido) [Ta(V)(mu-N)](2) product derived from facile NN bond cleavage.
TL;DR: Hydrosilylation of 3 at 25 °C using PhSiH3 occurs with 1,4-addition across the TaN−NTa framework to provide a quantitative yield of the hydrosilylated product.
Journal ArticleDOI
Electrochemical Template Deposition of Aluminum Nanorods Using Ionic Liquids
TL;DR: In this article, a method for synthesizing aluminum nanorods using nonaqueous, ionic liquid electrodeposition in nanoporous, polycarbonate templates was developed and demonstrated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Carbon-boron clathrates as a new class of sp3-bonded framework materials.
Li Zhu,Gustav M. Borstad,Hanyu Liu,Piotr A. Guńka,Piotr A. Guńka,Michael Guerette,Juli-Anna Dolyniuk,Yue Meng,Eran Greenberg,Vitali B. Prakapenka,Brian L. Chaloux,Albert Epshteyn,Ronald E. Cohen,Ronald E. Cohen,Ronald E. Cohen,Timothy A. Strobel +15 more
TL;DR: A chemical design principle based on boron substitution is used to predict and synthesize a three-dimensional carbon-boron framework in a host/guest clathrate structure that not only maintains the robust nature of diamond-like sp3 bonding but also offers potential for a broad range of compounds with tunable properties through substitution of guest atoms within the cages.
Journal ArticleDOI
High-Activity, Durable Oxygen Reduction Electrocatalyst: Nanoscale Composite of Platinum Tantalum Oxyphosphate on Vulcan Carbon
TL;DR: In this paper, a new oxygen reduction electrocatalyst for proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) is synthesized by dispersing nanoscale Pt on a tantalum oxyphosphate phase on a Vulcan carbon support, designated as Pt/[TaOPO4/VC] Electrocatalytic activity is measured by the thin-film rotating disk electrode methodology in 01 M HClO4 electrolyte.
