Journal ArticleDOI

Cloacal Lactobacillus isolates from broilers show high prevalence of resistance towards macrolide and lincosamide antibiotics.

TL;DR: Eighty-seven Lactobacillus strains isolated from cloacal swabs of broiler chickens derived from 20 different farms in Belgium were identified to species level and tested for susceptibility to macrolide and lincosamide antibiotics.
Journal ArticleDOI

Designing a treatment protocol with voriconazole to eliminate Aspergillus fumigatus from experimentally inoculated pigeons

TL;DR: Voriconazole at 10 mg/kg BW q12h in pigeons reduces clinical signs and eliminates A. fumigatus in racing pigeons experimentally infected with Aspergillosis.

Antimicrobial resistance and resistance genes in Staphylococcus aureus strains from rabbits

TL;DR: In this paper, S. aureus isolates from 31 rabbit farms with and without problems of chronic staphylococcosis, were screened for resistance to enrofloxacin, erythromycin, gentamicin, lincomycin, neomycin, penicillin and tetracyclines using the agar dilution test.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ranavirus-associated mass mortality in imported red tailed knobby newts (Tylototriton kweichowensis): a case report.

TL;DR: Ranavirus was isolated from three dead newts examined virologically and the gene coding for the major capsid protein of the virus was sequenced and showed 99.8% similarity to the published sequence of frog virus 3.
Journal ArticleDOI

Tree species identity outweighs the effects of tree species diversity and forest fragmentation on understorey diversity and composition

TL;DR: Within the TREEWEB platform, overstorey-understorey diversity relationships were mainly characterised by tree species identity effects, and no clear effects of tree species diversity and forest fragmentation on understorey composition and diversity were found.
