Lifestyle and impact on cardiovascular risk factor control in coronary patients across 27 countries: Results from the European Society of Cardiology ESC-EORP EUROASPIRE V registry.

Kornelia Kotseva, +71 more
TL;DR: A large majority of coronary patients have unhealthy lifestyles in terms of smoking, diet and sedentary behaviour, which adversely impacts major cardiovascular risk factors, and a majority did not achieve their blood pressure, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and glucose targets.
Journal ArticleDOI

Lifestyle and risk factor management in people at high risk of cardiovascular disease : a report from the European Society of Cardiology European Action on Secondary and Primary Prevention by Intervention to Reduce Events (EUROASPIRE) IV cross-sectional survey in 14 European regions

TL;DR: The European Action on Secondary and Primary Prevention by Intervention to Reduce Events (EUROASPIRE) IV in primary care was a cross-sectional survey carried out by the European Society of Cardiology, EURObservational Research Programme in 2014-2015 in 71 centres from 14 European countries as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Frailty and cardiac rehabilitation: A call to action from the EAPC Cardiac Rehabilitation Section.

TL;DR: The prevalence, clinical and prognostic relevance of frailty in a cardiac rehabilitation setting has not yet been well characterised, despite the increasing frequency of elderly patients in cardiac rehabilitation, where frailty is likely to influence the onset, type and intensity of the exercise training programme and the design of tailored rehabilitative interventions for these patients.
Journal ArticleDOI

Action anticipation beyond the action observation network: a functional magnetic resonance imaging study in expert basketball players.

TL;DR: Functional magnetic resonance imaging was used to explore whether the ability to make early predictions about the fate of sport‐specific actions is underpinned by neural regions beyond the classical AON, and found that, although involved in action prediction, the fronto‐parietal AON was similarly activated in novices and experts.
Journal ArticleDOI

The European Association of Preventive Cardiology Exercise Prescription in Everyday Practice and Rehabilitative Training (EXPERT) tool: A digital training and decision support system for optimized exercise prescription in cardiovascular disease. Concept, definitions and construction methodology.

TL;DR: A digital training and decision support system automatically provides an exercise prescription according to the variables provided that may contribute in overcoming barriers in exercise implementation in common cardiovascular diseases.
