Journal ArticleDOI
Statistical Physics of Traffic Flow
TL;DR: In this article, the current status of cellular automata models for traffic flow is reviewed with special emphasis on nonequilibrium effects induced by on-and off-ramps, and a review of the state of the art is given.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fibonacci family of dynamical universality classes.
TL;DR: It is shown that the two best-known examples of nonequilibrium universality classes, the diffusive and Kardar−Parisi−Zhang classes, are only part of an infinite discrete family, which strongly indicates the existence of a simpler underlying mechanism that determines the different classes.
Book ChapterDOI
CA Approach to Collective Phenomena in Pedestrian Dynamics
TL;DR: A 2-dimensional cellular automaton model is presented which is able to reproduce pedestrian dynamics effects inspired by the principles of chemotaxis and allows for faster than real time simulations of large crowds.

Cellular Automaton Approach to Pedestrian Dynamics - Applications
TL;DR: It is shown that the model is able to reproduce collective effects and self-organization phenomena encountered in pedestrian traffic, e.g. lane formation in counterflow through a large corridor and oscillations at doors.
Journal ArticleDOI
η Pairing as a Mechanism of Superconductivity in Models of Strongly Correlated Electrons
TL;DR: It is shown that a large class of extended versions of the Hubbard model has a superconducting ground state in arbitrary dimensions and in some special cases the complete phase diagram is found.
