Large-area microlens emitters for powerful THz emission
Gabor Matthäus,Stefan Nolte,Stefan Nolte,Rico Hohmuth,M. Voitsch,Wolfgang Richter,B. Pradarutti,S. Riehemann,Gunther Notni,Andreas Tünnermann,Andreas Tünnermann +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a microlens coupled large-area emitter based on low-temperature grown GaAs is presented, which achieves an unidirectional photocurrent at high acceleration field strengths (50 kV/cm) and constructively superposed THz emission.
Journal ArticleDOI
First Edoardo Amaldi Conference on gravitational wave experiments
Karsten Danzmann,Harald Lück,Albrecht Rüdiger,Roland Schilling,M. Schrempel,Walter Winkler,J. H. Hough,G. P. Newton,N. A. Robertson,H. Ward,A. M. Campbell,J.E. Logan,D. I. Robertson,Kenneth A. Strain,J. R. J. Bennett,V. Kose,M. Kühne,Bernard F. Schutz,David Nicholson,Justin R. Shuttleworth,Herbert Welling,Peter Aufmuth,Rolf-Hermann Rinkleff,Andreas Tünnermann,Benno Willke +24 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Observation of surface solitons in chirped waveguide arrays
Alexander Szameit,Yaroslav V. Kartashov,Felix Dreisow,Matthias Heinrich,Thomas Pertsch,Stefan Nolte,Andreas Tünnermann,Victor A. Vysloukh,Lluis Torner +8 more
TL;DR: The observation of surface solitons in chirped semi-infinite waveguide arrays whose waveguides exhibit exponentially decreasing refractive indices is reported and it is shown that the power threshold for surface wave formation decreases with an increase of the array chirp.
Journal ArticleDOI
Time-resolved study of back side ablated molybdenum thin films by ultrashort laser pulses
Dominik Bartl,Andreas Michalowski,Margit Hafner,Andreas Letsch,Stefan Nolte,Andreas Tünnermann +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the trajectories of ablated molybdenum fragments are recorded using a shadow-graphic setup with a time resolution in the nanosecond range, and the shape of collected molybenum fragments is examined as a function of applied fluence.
Journal ArticleDOI
Triple-clad large-pitch fibers for compact high-power pulsed fiber laser systems.
Christian Gaida,Fabian Stutzki,Florian Jansen,Hans-Jürgen Otto,Tino Eidam,Cesar Jauregui,Oliver de Vries,Jens Limpert,Andreas Tünnermann +8 more
TL;DR: A novel ytterbium (Yb)-doped large-pitch fiber design with significantly increased pump absorption and higher energy storage/gain per unit length is presented, which enables high-peak-power fiber laser systems with smaller footprints.
