Journal ArticleDOI

On the study of pulse evolution in ultra-short pulse mode-locked fiber lasers by numerical simulations.

TL;DR: Different regimes of mode-locking obtained by varying the intra-cavity dispersion and saturation energy of the gain fiber are revised and it is shown that a regime producing linearly chirped parabolic pulses known from self-similar evolution is embedded in the wave-breaking free mode- locking regime.
Journal ArticleDOI

Thermo-optical properties of air-clad photonic crystal fiber lasers in high power operation.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the thermo-optical behavior of air-clad ytterbium-doped large-mode-area photonic crystal fiber lasers.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hybrid soliton dynamics in liquid-core fibres.

TL;DR: Experimental evidence for hybrid solitons – a type of solitary wave, which emerges as a result of a strong non-instantaneous nonlinear response in CS2-filled liquid-core optical fibres is reported, demonstrating efficient soliton-driven supercontinuum generation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Laser induced nanogratings beyond fused silica - periodic nanostructures in borosilicate glasses and ULE™

TL;DR: In this article, an ultrashort pulse laser induced formation of birefringent structures in the volume of different glasses: Borofloat 33, BK7 and ULE™.
