TL;DR: The trellis-frame (picture-frame) and bias-extension tests for both balanced and unbalanced fabrics have been conducted and compared through this collaborative effort.
Journal ArticleDOI
Shear characterisation of viscous woven textile composites: a comparison between picture frame and bias extension experiments
TL;DR: In this article, an energy argument is presented that picture frame results should be normalised with respect to a characteristic length rather than area, and a novel normalisation procedure for bias extension testing is proposed that allows direct comparison of bias extension and picture frame result.
Journal ArticleDOI
Experimental determination of the permeability of textiles: A benchmark exercise
R. Arbter,J. M. Beraud,Christophe Binetruy,Laurent Bizet,Joël Bréard,Sébastien Comas-Cardona,C. Demaría,Andreas Endruweit,Paolo Ermanni,Frank Gommer,S. Hasanovic,P. Henrat,Florian Klunker,B. Laine,S. TL;DR: In this international permeability benchmark exercise, in-plane permeability data for two reinforcement fabrics, obtained using a total of 16 different experimental procedures, were compared to find the main source of scatter in results from different procedures is related to human factors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Curing of composite components by ultraviolet radiation: A review
TL;DR: Curing of polymer matrices by ultraviolet (UV) irradiation can be applied to a variety of processes in the production of composite components, as long as the component can be directly irradiated.
