Journal ArticleDOI
The International Registry of Acute Aortic Dissection (IRAD): new insights into an old disease.
Peter Hagan,Christoph A. Nienaber,Eric M. Isselbacher,David Bruckman,Dean Karavite,P. Russman,Arturo Evangelista,Rossella Fattori,Toru Suzuki,Jae K. Oh,Andrew G. Moore,Joseph F. Malouf,Linda Pape,Charlene Gaca,Udo Sechtem,Suzanne Lenferink,Hans J. Deutsch,Holger Diedrichs,Jose Marcos y Robles,Alfredo Llovet,Dan Gilon,Sugata Das,William F. Armstrong,G. Michael Deeb,Kim A. Eagle +24 more
TL;DR: The data support the need for continued improvement in prevention, diagnosis, and management of acute aortic dissection and suggest a high clinical index of suspicion is necessary.
Journal ArticleDOI
Choice of computed tomography, transesophageal echocardiography, magnetic resonance imaging, and aortography in acute aortic dissection: International Registry of Acute Aortic Dissection (IRAD).
Andrew G. Moore,Kim A. Eagle,David Bruckman,Brenda S. Moon,Joseph F. Malouf,Rossella Fattori,Arturo Evangelista,Eric M. Isselbacher,Toru Suzuki,Christoph A. Nienaber,Dan Gilon,Jae K. Oh +11 more
TL;DR: For acute aortic dissection, CT is selected most frequently worldwide as the initial test, followed by TEE, and aortography and MRI are performed much less often.
Journal ArticleDOI
Iatrogenic aortic dissection.
James L. Januzzi,Marc S. Sabatine,Kim A. Eagle,Arturo Evangelista,David Bruckman,Rossella Fattori,Jae K. Oh,Andrew G. Moore,Udo Sechtem,Alfredo Llovet,Dan Gilon,Linda Pape,Patrick T. O'Gara,Rajendra H. Mehta,Jeanna V. Cooper,Peter Hagan,William F. Armstrong,G. Michael Deeb,Toru Suzuki,Christoph A. Nienaber,Eric M. Isselbacher +20 more
TL;DR: Given the difference in risk factors, clinical presentation, and outcomes, clinicians should be vigilant for the presence of iatrogenic AD, particularly in those patients with unexplained hemodynamic instability or myocardial ischemia following invasive vascular procedures or CABG.
Journal Article
Age-related characteristics of ambulatory blood pressure load and mean blood pressure in normotensive subjects
TL;DR: A comparison of blood pressure means from the authors' sample that were taken during office visits and blood pressure mean from a 2122-patient community survey demonstrated that the sample was reflective of an unselected population.
Journal ArticleDOI
Age-related characteristics of ambulatory blood pressure load and mean blood pressure in normotensive subjects.
TL;DR: In this paper, the mean systolic and diastolic blood pressure and blood pressure loads were obtained and interpreted in 126 normotensive subjects (age range, 20 to 84 years).
