Journal ArticleDOI
Double-slit photoelectron interference in strong-field ionization of the neon dimer.
Maksim Kunitski,Nicolas Eicke,Pia Huber,Jonas Köhler,S. Zeller,J. Voigtsberger,Nikolai Schlott,K. Henrichs,H. Sann,Florian Trinter,Lothar Ph. H. Schmidt,Anton Kalinin,Markus Schöffler,Till Jahnke,Manfred Lein,Reinhard Dörner +15 more
TL;DR: The authors show the double-slit interference effect in the strong-field ionization of neon dimers by employing COLTRIMS method to record the momentum distribution of the photoelectrons in the molecular frame.
Journal ArticleDOI
Observation of the Efimov state of the helium trimer
Maksim Kunitski,S. Zeller,J. Voigtsberger,Anton Kalinin,Lothar Ph. H. Schmidt,Markus Schöffler,Achim Czasch,Wieland Schöllkopf,Robert E. Grisenti,Robert E. Grisenti,Till Jahnke,Dörte Blume,Reinhard Dörner +12 more
TL;DR: Experimental observation of this long-predicted but experimentally elusive Efimov state of 4He3 by means of Coulomb explosion imaging confirms the predicted size and a typical structure where two atoms are close to each other while the third is far away and sheds light on three-body physics more broadly.
Journal ArticleDOI
Observation of the Efimov state of the helium trimer
Maksim Kunitski,S. Zeller,J. Voigtsberger,Anton Kalinin,Lothar Ph. H. Schmidt,Markus Schöffler,Achim Czasch,Wieland Schöllkopf,Robert E. Grisenti,Robert E. Grisenti,Till Jahnke,Dörte Blume,Reinhard Dörner +12 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors reported experimental observation of this long predicted but experimentally elusive Efimov state by means of Coulomb explosion imaging, confirming the predicted size and a typical structure where two atoms are close to each other while the third is far away.
Journal ArticleDOI
Matter wave diffraction from an inclined transmission grating : Searching for the elusive 4He trimer efimov state
TL;DR: The size of the helium trimer is determined by diffracting a beam of 4He clusters from a 100 nm period grating inclined by 21 degrees, and the projected slit width is roughly halved to 27 nm, increasing the sensitivity to the trimer size.
Journal ArticleDOI
Diffraction of neutral helium clusters: Evidence for "magic numbers"
TL;DR: The size distributions of neutral 4He clusters in cryogenic jet beams, analyzed by diffraction from a 100 nm period transmission grating, reveal magic numbers at N=10-11, 14, 22, 26-27, and 44 atoms, thereby providing the first experimental confirmation for the energy levels of4He clusters.
