Journal ArticleDOI

A Methyl Group Controls Conformational Equilibrium in Human Mitochondrial tRNALys

TL;DR: Single molecule FRET analysis makes dynamics and thermodynamics of these small RNAs conveniently accessible and elucidates the mode of action of a simple post-transcriptional modification.
Journal ArticleDOI

Acyclic oligonucleotides: possibilities and limitations

TL;DR: Oligonucleotides containing acyclic nucleosides with a 3( S ),5-dihydroxypentyl ( 1a–e ) or 4( R )-methoxy-3( S),5-Dihydroxy-3 ( 2a ) side chain were prepared and their hybridization properties as well as their stability towards degradation with snake venom posphodiesterase were studied.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthetic Microcin C Analogs Targeting Different Aminoacyl-tRNA Synthetases

TL;DR: Three McC-like compounds containing a terminal aspartate, glutamate, or leucine attached to adenosine through a nonhydrolyzable sulfamoyl bond are synthesised and shown to function in a manner similar to that of McC.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis and Pairing Properties of Oligonucleotides Containing 3‐Hydroxy‐4‐hydroxymethyl‐1‐cyclohexanyl Nucleosides

TL;DR: In this article, cyclohexanyl nucleic acid (CNA) represents a novel enantioselective Watson-Crick base-pairing system, and homochiral oligomers of equivalent chirality show antiparallel WCB pairing, while those of opposite sense do not.
