Application of Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) in Drying Technology: A Comprehensive Review
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a comprehensive review of numerous significant applications of the ANN technique to solve problems of nonlinear function approximation, pattern detection, data interpretation, optimization, simulation, diagnosis, control, data sorting, clustering, and noise reduction in drying technology.
Journal ArticleDOI
Intermittent drying of bioproducts--an overview.
TL;DR: An overview of the basic process, selected results from experiments and mathematical models for a variety of biomaterials dried in a wide assortment of dryers and the beneficial effects of improving the quality of dried bioproducts by different intermittent processes are included and discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Studies on hot air and microwave vacuum drying of wild cabbage
TL;DR: In this paper, wild cabbage was dehydrated by a combination of hot-air drying and microwave vacuum drying and the results showed that the total drying time was reduced by about half while the retention values of the nutrient components and chlorophyll were improved significantly.
Journal ArticleDOI
Solar drying of foods: Modeling and numerical simulation
Cristina Ratti,Arun S. Mujumdar +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a simulation code was developed to predict the batch drying performance of a packed bed of particles, e.g., cylinders or slices of carrot, apples, etc., subjected to time-varying air conditions.
