Theoretical study of microwave heating patterns on batch fluidized bed drying of porous material

TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of microwave heating patterns were investigated for the case of batch fluidized bed drying by solving numerically a coupled heat and mass transfer model, and the results showed that the magnitude and distribution of the moisture, temperature and pressure within a particle can be significantly affected.
Journal ArticleDOI

Analytical study of cyclic temperature drying: effect on drying kinetics and product quality

TL;DR: In this paper, an analytical model has been formulated to determine the temperature and moisture distributions during the drying of an agricultural product when different cyclic air temperature variations were employed, and the variations in these distributions, with respect to space and time, are presented graphically.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cyclic heat transfer in a novel storage unit of multiple phase change materials

TL;DR: In this article, a novel storage unit of multiple phase change materials (PCMs) is developed, which consists of a tube which is surrounded by an external coaxial cylinder made up of several segments of different PCMs with different melting points.
Journal ArticleDOI

Heat and mass transfer during drying of a bed of shrinking particles – Simulation for carrot cubes dried in a spout-fluidized-bed drier

TL;DR: In this article, the authors developed a model to describe the heat and mass transfer during the drying of carrot cubes in a spout-fluidized-bed drier, taking into account the nonhomogeneous shrinkage of the material.
