Journal ArticleDOI
MicroRNA Discovery and Profiling in Human Embryonic Stem Cells by Deep Sequencing of Small RNA Libraries
Merav Bar,Stacia K. Wyman,Brian R. Fritz,Junlin Qi,Kavita Garg,Kavita Garg,Rachael K. Parkin,Evan M. Kroh,Ausra Bendoraite,Patrick S. Mitchell,Angelique M. Nelson,Walter L. Ruzzo,Carol B. Ware,Jerald P. Radich,Robert Gentleman,Hannele Ruohola-Baker,Muneesh Tewari +16 more
TL;DR: The data indicate that hESC express a larger complement of miRNAs than previously appreciated, and they provide a resource for additional studies of miRNA regulation of h ESC physiology.
Journal ArticleDOI
Regulation of miR-200 family microRNAs and ZEB transcription factors in ovarian cancer: evidence supporting a mesothelial-to-epithelial transition
Ausra Bendoraite,Emily C. Knouf,Kavita Garg,Rachael K. Parkin,Evan M. Kroh,Kathy O'Briant,Aviva P. Ventura,Andrew K. Godwin,Beth Y. Karlan,Charles W. Drescher,Nicole Urban,Beatrice S. Knudsen,Muneesh Tewari +12 more
TL;DR: Analysis of ovarian cancer tissues suggests that ovarian surface cells acquire a more epithelial miR-200-ZEB1/2 phenotype as they undergo transformation, suggesting the mesothelial-to-epithelial (Meso-E-T) model for development of ovarian cancers that arise from ovariansurface cells, as has been proposed previously on the basis of studies of protein markers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Derivation, Characterization, and In Vitro Differentiation of Canine Embryonic Stem Cells
Brian Hayes,Sara R. Fagerlie,Aravind Ramakrishnan,Szczepan W. Baran,Michael A. Harkey,Lynn Graf,Merav Bar,Ausra Bendoraite,Muneesh Tewari,Beverly Torok-Storb +9 more
TL;DR: Canine embryonic stem cell lines were generated to establish a large‐animal preclinical model for testing the safety and efficacy of embryonic stem (ES) cell‐derived tissue replacement therapy and one line, Fred Hutchinson dog (FHDO)‐7, has been maintained through 34 passages and is presented here.
Journal ArticleDOI
Quality Assessment and Data Analysis for microRNA Expression Arrays
Deepayan Sarkar,Rachael K. Parkin,Stacia K. Wyman,Ausra Bendoraite,Cassandra L. Sather,Jeffrey J. Delrow,Andrew K. Godwin,Charles W. Drescher,Wolfgang Huber,Robert Gentleman,Muneesh Tewari +10 more
TL;DR: A universal reference microRNA reagent set as well as a series of nonhuman spiked-in synthetic microRNA controls are introduced, and their use for quality control and between-array normalization of microRNA expression data is demonstrated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Derivation, Characterization, and In Vitro Differentiation of Canine Embryonic Stem Cells.
Aravind Ramakrishnan,Brian Hayes,Sara R. Fagerlie,Szczepan W. Baran,Michael A. Harkey,Lynn Graf,Merav Bar,Ausra Bendoraite,Muneesh Tewari,Beverly Torok-Storb +9 more
TL;DR: Results indicate that FHDO-7 is a pluripotent embryonic stem cell line.
