Journal ArticleDOI
Mild cognitive impairment: Can FDG-PET predict who is to rapidly convert to Alzheimer’s disease?
Gaël Chételat,B. Desgranges,V. de la Sayette,Fausto Viader,Francis Eustache,Jean-Claude Baron +5 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that among patients with MCI, fluorodeoxyglucose PET may accurately identify rapid converters, and replication in an independent sample is needed to confirm this finding.
Journal ArticleDOI
The neural substrates of memory systems impairment in Alzheimer's disease. A PET study of resting brain glucose utilization.
B. Desgranges,Jean-Claude Baron,V. de la Sayette,M.C. Petit-Taboué,K. Benali,Brigitte Landeau,B. Lechevalier,Francis Eustache +7 more
TL;DR: For episodic, short-term and semantic memory, many findings fit classical neuropsychology, while most of the less expected ones were consistent with recent results from functional neuro-imaging in healthy subjects.
Journal ArticleDOI
Using PET with 18F-AV-45 (florbetapir) to quantify brain amyloid load in a clinical environment
Vincent Camus,Pierre Payoux,Pierre Payoux,Louisa Barré,Louisa Barré,B. Desgranges,B. Desgranges,B. Desgranges,Thierry Voisin,Thierry Voisin,Clovis Tauber,Clovis Tauber,R. La Joie,R. La Joie,R. La Joie,M. Tafani,M. Tafani,Caroline Hommet,Caroline Hommet,Gaël Chételat,Gaël Chételat,Gaël Chételat,Karl Mondon,Karl Mondon,V. de la Sayette,V. de la Sayette,V. de la Sayette,Jean-Philippe Cottier,Jean-Philippe Cottier,E. Beaufils,E. Beaufils,Maria Joao Ribeiro,Maria Joao Ribeiro,Valérie Gissot,Emilie Vierron,Emilie Vierron,Johnny Vercouillie,Johnny Vercouillie,Bruno Vellas,Bruno Vellas,Francis Eustache,Francis Eustache,Francis Eustache,Denis Guilloteau +43 more
TL;DR: Positron emission tomography with florbetapir is a safe and suitable biomarker for AD that can be used routinely in a clinical environment, however, the low specificity of the visual PET scan assessment could be improved by the use of specific training and automatic or semiautomatic quantification tools.
Journal ArticleDOI
Macrostructural abnormalities in Korsakoff syndrome compared with uncomplicated alcoholism
Anne-Lise Pitel,Gaël Chételat,A. P. Le Berre,B. Desgranges,Francis Eustache,Hélène Beaunieux +5 more
TL;DR: Only a few cerebral regions, including the medial thalami, mammillary bodies, and corpus callosum, were more severely damaged in KS than in AL, and the continuum of macrostructural damage from AL to KS is restricted to key brain structures.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transient global amnesia: implicit/explicit memory dissociation and PET assessment of brain perfusion and oxygen metabolism in the acute stage
Francis Eustache,B. Desgranges,M.C. Petit-Taboué,V. de la Sayette,V Piot,C Sablé,Gilles Marchal,Jean-Claude Baron +7 more
TL;DR: The finding of a left prefrontal hypometabolism in the face of impaired episodic memory and altered verbal fluency would fit present day concepts from PET activation studies about the role of this area in episodic and semantic memory encoding/retrieval.
