Fission of medium mass elements induced by 126 MeV 14N ions

TL;DR: In this paper, the results obtained are fission cross sections, angular correlations and kinetic energy and mass distributions, showing that the large angular momentum brought in by the projectile implies much greater fission probabilities than those obtained when the same compound nuclei are created with light projectiles.
Journal ArticleDOI

Estimate of average freeze-out volume in multifragmentation events

TL;DR: In this article, an estimate of the average freeze-out volume for multifragmentation events is presented by means of a simulation using the experimental charged product partitions measured by the 4pi multidetector INDRA for 129Xe central collisions on Sn at 32 AMeV incident energy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Correlations between signals of the liquid-gas phase transition in nuclei

TL;DR: In this paper, several characteristic signals were found in samples of events resulting from heavy ion collisions at and above the Fermi energy, and concomitant observation of different signatures of a liquid-gas phase transition in nuclei on a given sample strongly supports the occurrence of this transition.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evidence for fast and simultaneous multi-fragment emission in central Kr + Au collisions at 60 MeV/u

TL;DR: In this paper, decay products emitted in Kr+Au collisions at 60 MeV/u have been detected with a large experimental array, and the data are compared to two fragmentation models in which fragments are emitted either sequentially or simultaneously.
