Measurement report: Important contributions of oxygenated compounds to emissions and chemistry of volatile organic compounds in urban air

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors measured VOCs at an urban site in Guangzhou, one of the megacities in the Pearl River Delta (PRD), using a gas chromatograph-mass spectrometer/flame ionization detection (GC-MS/FID) and a proton transfer reaction time-of-flight mass spectrometers (PTR-ToF-MS).
Journal ArticleDOI

The contributions of biomass burning to primary and secondary organics: A case study in Pearl River Delta (PRD), China

TL;DR: Emission ratios (EmRs) of organics to carbon monoxide (CO) obtained from this work generally agree with those from rice straw burning in previous studies, and the estimated formation rate of secondary organic aerosol (SOA) in BB plumes was found to be 24% faster than non-BB plumes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chemical characterization of oxygenated organic compounds in the gas phase and particle phase using iodide CIMS with FIGAERO in urban air

TL;DR: In this article, measurements of an iodide chemical ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometer installed with a Filter Inlet for Gases and AEROsols (FIGAERO-I-CIMS) in both the gas phase and the particle phase at an urban site in Guangzhou, a typical megacity in southern China, during the autumn of 2018 were observed, including organic acids, multi-functional organic compounds, oxidation products of biogenic greenhouse gases and aromatics.
