Large Seebeck effect by charge-mobility engineering
Peijie Sun,Beipei Wei,Jiahao Zhang,Jan M. Tomczak,André M. Strydom,Martin Søndergaard,Bo B. Iversen,Frank Steglich +7 more
TL;DR: A charge mobility that changes rapidly with temperature can result in a sizeable addition to the Seebeck coefficient, which can provide a novel route to the design of improved thermoelectric materials.
Journal ArticleDOI
Resonant charge relaxation as a likely source of the enhanced thermopower in FeSi
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors show that the robustness of correlated semiconductor FeSi is robust against the sign of the relevant charge carriers at the magnetic crossover, and they suggest that the resonant scattering of the charge carriers is a strong constraint on the microscopic interpretation of the robust thermopower enhancement in FeSi.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nernst effect of the intermediate valence compound YbAl3: revisiting the thermoelectric properties
Beipei Wei,Beipei Wei,Jiahao Zhang,Peijie Sun,Wenquan Wang,Nanlin Wang,Nanlin Wang,Frank Steglich +7 more
TL;DR: The Nernst effect and thermopower of the prototypical Yb-based intermediate valence compound YbAl(3) were investigated and it is discussed that this theorem fails when being applied to Yb Al(3), which is conceptually different from the local Kondo physics.
