Journal ArticleDOI

Gene set enrichment analysis for genome-wide DNA methylation data.

TL;DR: GOmeth and GOregion as discussed by the authors are new methods for performing unbiased gene set testing following differential methylation analysis, which are publicly available in the missMethyl Bioconductor R package.
Journal ArticleDOI

Gene length and detection bias in single cell RNA sequencing protocols.

TL;DR: The finding that scRNA-seq datasets that have been sequenced using a full-length transcript protocol exhibit gene length bias akin to bulk RNA-seq data is found, and it is illustrated that full- length and UMI data can be combined to reveal the underlying biology influencing expression of mESCs.

Sex-Specific Control of Human Heart Maturation by the Progesterone Receptor

TL;DR: In this article, the progesterone receptor was identified as a key mediator of sexdependent transcriptional programs during cardiomyocyte maturation, and functional validation studies of sex steroids implicated in cardiac maturation were performed in human pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiac organoids and mice.
