A rapid method of sex-specific marker discovery based on NGS and determination of the XX / XY sex-determination system in Channa maculata

TL;DR: The results showed that the effective sex-specific markers, combined with the Chelex 100 DNA extraction and HRM scan technology, could realize high-throughput and rapid detection of the three sexes of Taiwan snakeheads, and could be directly applied to the breeding of the all-male hybrid snakehead.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chromosome-level genome assemblies of Channa argusandChanna maculata and comparative analysis of their temperature adaptability.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors sequenced and assembled the whole genomes of C. argus and C. maculata and obtained chromosome-level genome assemblies of 630.39 and 618.82 Mb, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI

Grass carp SERPINA1 inhibits GCRV infection through degrading CF2

TL;DR: It is proposed that serpina1 can inhibit viral infection through interaction with the coagulation factor, providing new insights into the molecular mechanism of SERPINA1’s antiviral function.
Journal ArticleDOI

Screening of Genes Related to Sex Determination and Differentiation in Mandarin Fish (Siniperca chuatsi)

TL;DR: The chromosome-level genome of a female mandarin fish was assembled, and it was found that LG24 of the genome was an X chromosome, and a total of 61 genes on the X chromosome showed sex-biased expression.
