Journal ArticleDOI

Polyphenolics from various extracts/fractions of red onion (Allium cepa) peel with potent antioxidant and antimutagenic activities.

TL;DR: EA fraction showed dose dependent antimutagenic activity by following the inhibition of tobacco-induced mutagenicity in Salmonella typhimurium strains (TA102) and hydroxyl radical-induced nicking in plasmid pUC18 DNA, showing that EA fraction of red onion peel can be used as natural antioxidant in nutraceutical preparations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Unraveling the efficient applications of secondary metabolites of various Trichoderma spp.

TL;DR: Outlining the importance and diverse activities of secondary metabolites of Trichoderma besides its relevance to agriculture would generate greater understanding of their other important and beneficial applications apart from target specific biopesticides.
Journal ArticleDOI

Microbial consortium-mediated plant defense against phytopathogens: Readdressing for enhancing efficacy

TL;DR: The outcomes of small microbial consortia used so far to protect crop plants from various pathogens are presented and some potential biotechnological applications to sustain the effect of microbe-induced defense responses in host plants are suggested.
Journal ArticleDOI

Potential chemoprevention of N-nitrosodiethylamine-induced hepatocarcinogenesis by polyphenolics from Acacia nilotica bark.

TL;DR: The results strongly support that A. nilotica bark prevents lipid peroxidation (LPO) and promote the enzymatic and non-enzymatic antioxidant defense system during NDEA-induced hepatocarcinogenesis which might be due to activities like scavenging of oxy radicals by the phytomolecules in ANBE.
