Low-Dose Cd Induces Hepatic Gene Hypermethylation, along with the Persistent Reduction of Cell Death and Increase of Cell Proliferation in Rats and Mice
Bo Wang,Bo Wang,Yang Li,Yi Tan,Xiao Miao,Xiao Miao,Xu-Dong Liu,Chen Shao,Xiao-Hui Yang,Subat Turdi,Li-Jie Ma,Jun Ren,Lu Cai +12 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that Cd-induced global gene hypermethylation, most likely caspase-8 gene promoterHypermethylation that down-regulated its expression, leading to the decreased hepatic apoptosis and increased preneoplastic lesions.
Journal ArticleDOI
Intermittent hypoxia-induced renal antioxidants and oxidative damage in male mice: hormetic dose response.
TL;DR: It is suggested that IH induces a hormetic response, i.e.: short-term IH exposure is able to induce a protective response to protect the kidney from oxidative damage while long-termIH exposure has a damage effect on the kidney.
Journal ArticleDOI
Knockdown of HIF-1α by siRNA-expressing plasmid delivered by attenuated Salmonella enhances the antitumor effects of cisplatin on prostate cancer.
TL;DR: The findings indicate that DDP-based chemotherapy combined with targeting the HIF-1α-regulated cancer metabolism pathway might be an ideal strategy to treat PCa.
Journal ArticleDOI
Plasmid-based E6-specific siRNA and co-expression of wild-type p53 suppresses the growth of cervical cancer in vitro and in vivo
Xin Li,Yang Li,Jiadi Hu,Bo Wang,Lijing Zhao,Kun Ji,Baofeng Guo,Di Yin,Yanwei Du,Dennis J. Kopecko,Dhananjaya V. Kalvakolanu,Xuejian Zhao,De-Qi Xu,Ling Zhang +13 more
TL;DR: It is found that simultaneous expression of pSi-E6-P53 caused a robust suppression of tumor growth when compared to the controls either E6-specific siRNA or p53 alone.
Journal ArticleDOI
Delivery of the co-expression plasmid pEndo-Si-Stat3 by attenuated Salmonella serovar typhimurium for prostate cancer treatment.
Xin Li,Yang Li,Bo Wang,Kun Ji,Zuowen Liang,Baofeng Guo,Jiadi Hu,Di Yin,Yanwei Du,Dennis J. Kopecko,Dhananjaya V. Kalvakolanu,Xuejian Zhao,De-Qi Xu,Ling Zhang +13 more
TL;DR: Successful delivery by attenuated Salmonella of the combination therapeutic plasmid simultaneously knocked down the expression of Stat3 and resulted in over-expression of Endostatin, which synergistically inhibited prostate cancer growth.
