Journal ArticleDOI

Thermal disruption of soil bacterial assemblages decreases diversity and assemblage similarity

TL;DR: Close mesocosms are incubated to test the prediction that higher temperatures decrease species richness and increase assemblage similarity more and faster than lower temperatures, and Contrary to predictions, the simplified assemblages at higher temperatures became less similar to each other over time.
Journal ArticleDOI

How to improve scaling from traits to ecosystem processes.

TL;DR: The authors argue that these studies often conflict with the conceptual foundations of TBE, lack theory- or hypothesis-driven selection and use of traits, and tend to ignore intraspecific variation, and use experimental or study designs that are not well suited to make strong tests of trait-based ecology assumptions.
