Journal ArticleDOI

A gene encoding a P-type ATPase mutated in two forms of hereditary cholestasis.

TL;DR: This gene, called FIC1, is the first identified human member of a recently described subfamily of P-type ATPases; ATP-dependent aminophospholipid transport is the previously described function of members of this subfamily.
Journal Article

Validation of a recording spectrophotometric method for measurement of membrane-associated Mg- and NaK-ATPase activity.

TL;DR: The coupled-enzyme assay required less membrane protein, showed less variability in duplicate samples, required half the time, and also yielded accurate values in brain, kidney, and heart tissue, which should find broad application in the study of membrane ATPase.
Journal ArticleDOI

Hepatic organic anion uptake in the rat.

TL;DR: The hepatic uptake of bilirubin, indocyanine green and ICG was studied in 350 anesthetized Sprague-Dawley rats to clarify the relationship of hepatic BR uptake to its overall transport from plasma to bile.
Journal ArticleDOI

Intracranial pressure monitoring and liver transplantation for fulminant hepatic failure

TL;DR: Intracranial pressure monitoring represents a potentially important tool in the preoperative and intraoperative management of comatose patients with fulminant hepatic failure and warrants further study.
