Frequency and Risk Factors Associated With Osteonecrosis of the Jaw in Cancer Patients Treated With Intravenous Bisphosphonates
Ana O. Hoff,Bela B. Toth,Kadri Altundag,Marcella M. Johnson,Carla L. Warneke,Mimi Hu,Ajay K. Nooka,Gilbert Sayegh,Valentina Guarneri,Kimberly Desrouleaux,Jeffrey Cui,Andrea Adamus,Robert F. Gagel,Gabriel N. Hortobagyi +13 more
TL;DR: Osteonecrosis of the jaw has been reported in patients treated with bisphosphonates and the incidence and risk factors associated with this disorder have not been clearly defined.
Journal ArticleDOI
Psychological adjustment and sleep quality in a randomized trial of the effects of a Tibetan yoga intervention in patients with lymphoma.
TL;DR: The authors examined the effects of the Tibetan yoga (TY) practices of Tsa lung and Trul khor, which incorporate controlled breathing and visualization, mindfulness techniques, and low‐impact postures in patients with lymphoma.
Journal ArticleDOI
Specific Mutations in the β-Catenin Gene (CTNNB1) Correlate with Local Recurrence in Sporadic Desmoid Tumors
Alexander J. Lazar,Daniel Tuvin,Shohrae Hajibashi,Sultan Habeeb,Svetlana Bolshakov,Empar Mayordomo-Aranda,Carla L. Warneke,Dolores Lopez-Terrada,Raphael E. Pollock,Dina Lev +9 more
TL;DR: Patients harboring CTNNB1 (45F) mutations are at particular risk for recurrence and therefore may especially benefit from adjuvant therapeutic approaches.
Journal ArticleDOI
Examination of Mutations in BRAF, NRAS, and PTEN in Primary Cutaneous Melanoma
Vikas K. Goel,Alexander J. Lazar,Alexander J. Lazar,Carla L. Warneke,Mark Redston,Mark Redston,Frank G. Haluska +6 more
TL;DR: Analysis of melanoma cell lines suggests that activating mutations in BRAF can occur simultaneously with inactivation of phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN), but neuroblastoma RAS (NRAS) mutations are not coincident, and the concurrent mutation of NRAS and BRAF was rare.
Journal ArticleDOI
Atypical PKCι contributes to poor prognosis through loss of apical-basal polarity and Cyclin E overexpression in ovarian cancer
Astrid Eder,Xiaomei Sui,Daniel G. Rosen,Laura K. Nolden,Kwai Wa Cheng,John P. Lahad,Madhuri Kango-Singh,Karen H. Lu,Carla L. Warneke,Edward M. Atkinson,Isabelle Bedrosian,Khandan Keyomarsi,Wen Lin Kuo,Joe W. Gray,Jerry C. Yin,Jinsong Liu,Georg Halder,Gordon B. Mills +17 more
TL;DR: It is shown that atypical PKCiota, which plays a critical role in the establishment and maintenance of epithelial cell polarity, is genomically amplified and overexpressed in serous epithelial ovarian cancers, and increased PKciota proteins levels are associated with increased Cyclin E protein expression and proliferation in ovarian cancers.
