Endogenous MHC Class II Processing of a Viral Nuclear Antigen After Autophagy
Casper Paludan,Dorothee Schmid,Markus Landthaler,Martina Vockerodt,Dieter Kube,Thomas Tuschl,Christian Münz +6 more
TL;DR: Lysosomal processing after autophagy may contribute to MHC class II–restricted surveillance of long-lived endogenous antigens including nuclear proteins relevant to disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
Distinct roles of IL-12 and IL-15 in human natural killer cell activation by dendritic cells from secondary lymphoid organs.
Guido Ferlazzo,Maggi Pack,Dolca Thomas,Casper Paludan,Dorothee Schmid,Till Strowig,Gwenola Bougras,William A. Muller,Lorenzo Moretta,Christian Münz +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the capacity of Dendritic cells to interact with NK cells in human lymphoid organs and identify the role of specific DC-derived cytokines was identified. And they demonstrated that DCs colocalize with NKs in the T cell areas of lymph nodes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Epstein-Barr Nuclear Antigen 1-Specific CD4+ Th1 Cells Kill Burkitt’s Lymphoma Cells
Casper Paludan,Kara Bickham,Sarah Nikiforow,Ming L. Tsang,Kiera Goodman,Willem A. Hanekom,Jean-François Fonteneau,Stefan Stevanovic,Christian Münz +8 more
TL;DR: It is found that EBNA1-specific, Th1 CD4+ cytotoxic T cells recognize Burkitt's lymphoma lines, suggesting adaptive immunity can be directed against Burkitt’s lymphoma, and perhaps this role forCD4+ Th1 cells extends to other tumors that escape MHC class I presentation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dendritic cells cross-present latency gene products from Epstein-Barr virus-transformed B cells and expand tumor-reactive CD8(+) killer T cells.
Marion Subklewe,Casper Paludan,Ming L. Tsang,Karsten Mahnke,Ralph M. Steinman,Christian Münz +5 more
TL;DR: The capacity of DCs to cross-present antigens from dead cells extends to the expansion of high affinity T cells specific for viral latency antigen involved in cell transformation.

Immunomodulation using placental stem cells
TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed methods of immunomodulation using placental stem cells and placental cell populations, and also provided methods of producing and selecting placental cells and cell populations.
