TL;DR: APDS2 is a combined immunodeficiency with a variable clinical phenotype and immunoglobulin replacement therapy, rapamycin, and, likely in the near future, selective phosphoinositide 3-kinase δ inhibitors are possible treatment options.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hyper-IgM syndrome type 4 with a B lymphocyte–intrinsic selective deficiency in Ig class-switch recombination
Kohsuke Imai,Nadia Catalan,Alessandro Plebani,László Maródi,Ozden Sanal,Satoru Kumaki,Vasantha Nagendran,Philip Wood,Catherine Glastre,Françoise Sarrot-Reynauld,Olivier Hermine,Monique Forveille,Patrick Revy,Alain Fischer,Anne Durandy +14 more
TL;DR: In vitro studies showed that the molecular defect responsible for this new HIGM entity (HIGM4) occurs downstream of the AID activity, as the A ID gene was induced normally and AID-induced DNA double-strand breaks in the switch micro region of the Ig heavy chain locus were detected during CSR as normal.

TL;DR: APDS2 is a combined immunodeficiency with a variable clinical phenotype and Complications are frequent, such as severe bacterial and viral infections, lymphoproliferation, and lymphoma similar to APDS1/PASLI-CD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Final height and body mass index after fractionated total body irradiation and allogeneic stem cell transplantation in childhood leukemia.
Fernand Freycon,Béatrice Trombert-Paviot,Léonie Casagranda,Valérie Mialou,Pascale Berlier,Claire Berger,Corinne Armari-Alla,Cécile Faure-Conter,Catherine Glastre,Laurence Langevin,Stephanie Doyen,Jean-Louis Stephan +11 more
TL;DR: Final height is decreased; BMI is normal but decreased from fTBI in boys; and growth hormone treatment had only a modest effect on growth velocity.
Journal ArticleDOI
L'anticipation de la non-réanimation en soins palliatifs pédiatrique à domicile: le Samu comme partenaire de soins ?
Matthias Schell,Perrine Marec-Berard,Catherine Glastre,Laurence Langevin,Didier Frappaz,Christophe Bergeron,Marie Line Joris,Maïté Castaing,Yves Devaux +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the local emergency unit coordinator dispatches an emergency team to the child's home in order to manage symptoms (seizures, pain, etc.) but avoid any futile resuscitation attempt.
