Journal ArticleDOI
Outcome-dependent geographic and individual variations in the access to renal transplantation in incident dialysed patients: a French nationwide cohort study.
Adélaïde Pladys,Camille Morival,Cécile Couchoud,Christian Jacquelinet,Emmanuelle Laurain,Sylvie Merle,Cécile Vigneau,Sahar Bayat +7 more
TL;DR: The use of different outcomes to evaluate access to kidney transplantation could help healthcare policy‐makers to select the most appropriate interventions for each region in order to reduce treatment disparities.
Journal ArticleDOI
The effect of differing kidney disease treatment modalities and organ donation and transplantation practices on health expenditure and patient outcomes
Kitty J Jager,Vianda S. Stel,Peter Branger,Marja Guijt,Mirela Busic,Marijana Dragovic,Fritz Diekmann,Martí Manyalich,Paola Di Ciaccio,Alessandro Nanni Costa,Dave Collett,Lisa Mumford,Bernadette Haase,Aline C. Hemke,Orsolya Deme,Sándor Mihály,Mark Murphy,Cécile Couchoud,Ziad A. Massy,Ziad A. Massy,Marie Lingemann,Axel Rahmel +21 more
TL;DR: The Effect of Differing Kidney Disease Treatment Modalities and Organ Donation and Transplantation Practices on Health Expenditure and Patient Outcomes (EDITH) aims to obtain information on long-term kidney transplant outcomes and detailed outcomes and costs related to the different treatment modalities of end-stage kidney disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mortality due to bleeding, myocardial infarction and stroke in dialysis patients.
Gurbey Ocak,Marlies Noordzij,Maarten B. Rookmaaker,Aleix Cases,Cécile Couchoud,James G. Heaf,Faical Jarraya,J. De Meester,Jaap W. Groothoff,Bård Waldum-Grevbo,Runolfur Palsson,Halima Resić,C. Remón,Patrik Finne,Maria Stendahl,Marianne C. Verhaar,Ziad A. Massy,Friedo W. Dekker,Kitty J Jager +18 more
TL;DR: Dialysis was associated with increased mortality risks of bleeding and arterial thrombosis, and Clinicians should be aware of the increased bleeding and thromBosis risks.
Journal ArticleDOI
Are there good reasons for inequalities in access to renal transplantation in children
Julien Hogan,Benoît Audry,Jérôme Harambat,Olivier Dunand,Arnaud Garnier,Rémi Salomon,Tim Ulinski,Marie-Alice Macher,Cécile Couchoud +8 more
TL;DR: Although patient characteristics explained most of the inter-centre variability, harmonization of some practices might enable us to reduce some inequalities in access to renal transplantation while maintaining optimal transplant survival and chances to get a second transplant when needed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Increased incidence of acute kidney injury requiring dialysis in metropolitan France.
TL;DR: This is the first exhaustive study in metropolitan France of the SIR for AKI-D, and shows this SIR has increased significantly over 6 years, together with ICU care and continuous RRT, and in-hospital mortality is high but stable.
