mRNA biogenesis-related helicase eIF4AIII from Arabidopsis thaliana is an important factor for abiotic stress adaptation

TL;DR: Molecular and genetic analyses confirmed the relevance of eIF4AIII during abiotic stress adaptation in Arabidopsis, and suggested that in addition to its function in mRNA biogenesis, eIF 4AIII can play a role in abiotic Stress adaptation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Exploring the Ancestral Mechanisms of Regulation of Horizontally Acquired Nitrogenases.

TL;DR: It is proposed that horizontal transfer of PHB biosynthesis genes could be an ancestral mechanism of regulation of horizontally acquired nitrogenases in the genus Pseudomonas.
Journal ArticleDOI

Genetic analysis of environmental strains of the plant pathogen Phytophthora capsici reveals heterogeneous repertoire of effectors and possible effector evolution via genomic island.

TL;DR: Findings provide evidence of PcAVR3a1 evolution via mobile elements in environmental strains of Phytophthora by recognizing the presence of an episomal circular intermediate of P. capsici, indicating that this mobile element is functional.
Journal ArticleDOI

Minimizing the time and cost of production of transgenic alfalfa libraries using the highly efficient completely sequenced vector pPZP200BAR

TL;DR: The complete sequence of pPZP200BAR and the extremely high efficiency of this binary vector in alfalfa transformation is reported, opening the way for rapid and inexpensive production of transgenic events for al falfa improvement public programs.
