Hybrid Organic−Inorganic Polyoxometalate Compounds: From Structural Diversity to Applications

TL;DR: Polyoxometalates (POMs) are discrete anionic metaloxygen clusters which can be regarded as soluble oxide fragments which play a great role in various areas ranging from catalysis, medicine, electrochemistry, photochromism,5 to magnetism.
Journal ArticleDOI

Designed Hybrid Organic−Inorganic Nanocomposites from Functional Nanobuilding Blocks

TL;DR: In this paper, the core integrity of inorganic nanobuilding blocks (NBBs) is preserved and the main synthetic procedures presented in the literature are reviewed and extended to nanoparticule-based hybrid networks.
Journal ArticleDOI

Gold nanoparticles functionalized with gadolinium chelates as high-relaxivity MRI contrast agents.

TL;DR: Water-dispersible gold nanoparticles functionalized with paramagnetic gadolinium have been fully characterized, and the NMRD profiles show very high relaxivities up to 1.5 T.
Journal ArticleDOI

Photopolymerization of N-Vinylcarbazole Using Visible-Light Harvesting Iridium Complexes as Photoinitiators

TL;DR: In this paper, the photoredox catalysis approach is used to initiate the free radical promoted cationic photopolymerization of N-vinyl carbazole (NVK) under very soft irradiation conditions (halogen lamp, blue or green LED bulbs) using visible-light harvesting photocatalysts (mainly Ir(III) complexes) in iodonium salt and silane containing photoinitiating systems.
Journal ArticleDOI

Incorporation of Magnetic Nanoparticles in New Hybrid Networks Based on Heteropolyanions and Polyacrylamide.

TL;DR: The copolymerization of acrylamide with the tetrafunctionalized polyanion, which acts as a cross-linker, is performed in an aqueous dispersion of maghemite and results in a magnetic hybrid hydrogel with super absorption properties.
