Satellite-to-ground quantum key distribution
Sheng-Kai Liao,Wen-Qi Cai,Wei-Yue Liu,Liang Zhang,Yang Li,Ji-Gang Ren,Juan Yin,Qi Shen,Yuan Cao,Zheng-Ping Li,Feng-Zhi Li,X. H. Chen,Lihua Sun,Jianjun Jia,Wu Jincai,Xiao-Jun Jiang,Jianfeng Wang,Yongmei Huang,Qiang Wang,Zhou Yilin,Deng Lei,Tao Xi,Lu Ma,Tai Hu,Qiang Zhang,Yu-Ao Chen,Nai-Le Liu,Xiang-Bin Wang,Zhen-Cai Zhu,Chao-Yang Lu,Rong Shu,Rong Shu,Cheng-Zhi Peng,Jianyu Wang,Jianyu Wang,Jian-Wei Pan +35 more
TL;DR: This work reports the development and launch of a low-Earth-orbit satellite for implementing decoy-state QKD—a form ofQKD that uses weak coherent pulses at high channel loss and is secure because photon-number-splitting eavesdropping can be detected.
Journal ArticleDOI
Multiphoton entanglement and interferometry
Jian-Wei Pan,Zeng-Bing Chen,Chao-Yang Lu,Harald Weinfurter,Anton Zeilinger,Marek Zukowski,Marek Zukowski +6 more
TL;DR: A review of the progress in photonic quantum information processing can be found in this article, where the emphasis is given to the creation of photonic entanglement of various forms, tests of the completeness of quantum mechanics (in particular, violations of local realism), quantum information protocols for quantum communication, and quantum computation with linear optics.
Journal ArticleDOI
Quantum computational advantage using photons
Han-Sen Zhong,Hui Wang,Yu-Hao Deng,Ming-Cheng Chen,Li-Chao Peng,Yi-Han Luo,Jian Qin,Dian Wu,Xing Ding,Yi Hu,Peng Hu,Xiaoyan Yang,Weijun Zhang,Hao Li,Yuxuan Li,Xiao Jiang,Lin Gan,Guangwen Yang,Lixing You,Zhen Wang,Li Li,Nai-Le Liu,Chao-Yang Lu,Jian-Wei Pan +23 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed to use quantum computers to perform certain tasks that are believed to be intractable to classical computers, such as Boson sampling, which is considered a strong candidate to demonstrate the capabilities of quantum computers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Satellite-based entanglement distribution over 1200 kilometers.
Juan Yin,Yuan Cao,Yu-Huai Li,Sheng-Kai Liao,Liang Zhang,Liang Zhang,Ji-Gang Ren,Wen-Qi Cai,Wei-Yue Liu,Bo Li,Hui Dai,Guang-Bing Li,Qi-Ming Lu,Yun-Hong Gong,Yu Xu,Shuang-Lin Li,Feng-Zhi Li,Ya-Yun Yin,Jiang Ziqing,Ming Li,Jianjun Jia,Ge Ren,Dong He,Zhou Yilin,Xiao-Xiang Zhang,Na Wang,Xiang Chang,Zhen-Cai Zhu,Nai-Le Liu,Yu-Ao Chen,Chao-Yang Lu,Rong Shu,Rong Shu,Cheng-Zhi Peng,Jianyu Wang,Jianyu Wang,Jian-Wei Pan +36 more
TL;DR: Satellite-based distribution of entangled photon pairs to two locations separated by 1203 kilometers on Earth, through two satellite-to-ground downlinks is demonstrated, with a survival of two-photon entanglement and a violation of Bell inequality.
Journal ArticleDOI
Single quantum emitters in monolayer semiconductors
Yu-Ming He,Genevieve Clark,John Schaibley,Yu He,Ming-Cheng Chen,Yu-Jia Wei,Xing Ding,Qiang Zhang,Wang Yao,Xiaodong Xu,Chao-Yang Lu,Jian-Wei Pan +11 more
TL;DR: A new class of SQEs based on excitons that are spatially localized by defects in 2D tungsten-diselenide (WSe2) monolayers is reported, which could give rise to practical advantages in quantum-information processing, such as an efficient photon extraction and a high integratability and scalability.
